The U.S. Department of Transportation - Regulates the routing of highly radioactive materials, including spent nuclear fuel.

The Nuclear Waste Technical Review Board - Congress created the Nuclear Waste Technical Review Board, an independent federal agency, to evaluate the technical and scientific validity of Project studies and findings. Twice a year, this Board reports its conclusions and recommendations to Congress and to the Secretary of Energy and points out concerns from outside parties.

Office of Nuclear Energy, Science & Technology - The mission of the Office of Nuclear Energy is to lead the DOE investment in the development and exploration of advanced nuclear science and technology.

U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission - The NRC is one of three Federal agencies under the Nuclear Waste Policy Act with a role in the disposal of spent nuclear fuel and other high-level radioactive waste. NRC has responsibility for developing regulations to implement the EPA safety standards and for licensing the repository.
